The BWF Blog has stagnated

I decided about a month ago that I needed to stop posting here so much, for a couple of reasons. First, I have too much going on around the house - projects wise - to try and keep the blog interesting. But more importantly, I needed to see if this thing could be self-sustaining.

It seemed that for the most part, aside from a couple of guys, I was doing most of the posting here. I didn't start this blog to hear myself talk, I started it so each of you would have a placce to exchange pics of each other's collections and inform each other about different Black With Flames diecast - old or new - that you either had or knew of. I wanted to give everyone a place to not only talk about BWFs and share information about them, but to have a place to trade for them as well.

So I wanted to see how the blog would do on its own, and the answer is an obvious "not so good". I don't have the time, energy, or interest to write a blog for a handful of people to read, I had hoped this would keep itself going, and that isn't happening. All of this means that there really isn't much interest in a BWF blog in the first place; the topic probably is too "narrow" of a subject to support it.

I'm going to try and set up a website format, just to se if that has any more success than the blog format, and I'll notify everyone when that happens. But if the support isn't there, then it isn't there.

It looks like this place is really turning out well. Congrats Rich. I have been dealing with some stuff and trying my hardest to get into a new dealership and that will be happening in a few weeks. My latest BWF is the HW Dodge Van picked up 3 the other day and already have one drilled out.

New BW(ghost)F From JL!

Got in JL Forever Rel 14 at the store today. Got a 68 Road Runner, black with Ghost flames. Kind of tribal, but beggers can't be choosers. Haven't found a pic as of yet, but check your local shop for one!

BWF "Product of the Week"

Older BWF'ers will fondly recall the words "Hey kids, what time is it???"

But for this site, the answer is a bit different:

"IT'S BLACK WITH FLAMES TIME !!!!!!!"

We are always on the lookout for interesting items on the "Black With Flames" theme, and we've found a nice little addition for that BWF Hobby Room, to go along with those light switch covers. Who doesn't love this:

It's a cool Black With Flames wall clock! This baby is 8.75" and is handpainted. Just $35.00 and if you're interested in buying one, shoot me an e-mail and I'll send you the link. This site has a ton of BWF items, and I'd rather keep some things a surprise for future Products of the Week! (The black square isn't part of the clock, it's the background. The clock itself is round with a silver border)

I've been "slipping" lately!

My aplogies to everyone; I haven't been nearly as present here as I'd like to be the last few weeks. Too much work getting caught up with four classes, and trying to re-do four rooms in the house (plus clean a fifty year old basement!)

I appreciate those of you who have contributed during this lull, thanks for keeping the blog going!

I have wanted to look into switching the blog over to a regular website, and still intend to, but just haven't had the time. Keep the faith though, school ends next week and I'll have a bit more time to work on it.

Big welcome to cprathe !!!!

The BWF family has just grown a bit with the recent visit of cprathe, who I have seen on JLTalk and/or Swifty's Garage, I believe?

We look forward to seeing his postings on the blog in the future, but for now maybe he'd like to tell us a bit about his BWF collecting?

'57 Chevy Suburban

I recently stumbled upon an online photo editor and found it very fun to edit and play around with old photos in my personal gallery. Here are some shots that I edited using a cartoonish sketching feature.
