Pre-pros, and White Lightnings

Just thought I'd see who has any of these out there, and see if you'd share them with us. The only car I have that fits this is a '65 Impala that I bought off ebay, it looks to be some version of the WalMart Exclusive set from Forever 64

Here is the WL version, as seen on LightningLane:

Here is the car I bought off ebay, has different colored flames (though the same pattern, ot appears) and a different set of gold wheels):

It's not red, so we know it's not a test shot (lol) but is it a White Lightning, a pre-pro, or a "lunchbox special"?

Show us your special BWF!

  1. That's pretty cool Rich,I kinda like the colored flames on it,at least they are easier to see.

  2. I was buying some loose BWF '69 Impala's from a guy in Hong Kong on ebay, in the hope that they might be pre-pros (they weren't) and noticed he had this '65. I'd never seen those flames before and figured it HAD to be a factory job, since no one would bother to copy the exact pattern but in a different color, on their own.

Got it cheap just in case it was a pre-pro of how the flames COULD have been done, in color.

  3. The flames do show up nicely. Those are bonafide White Lightnings - this version did have a wheel variation.
Is it possible that someone did some sort of overlay on the original flame pattern?
